2011/12 Executive The Nova Musica Society has been operated by a dedicated volunteer board of directors, with additional contribution from volunteers for all functions. The orchestra has continuously retained a conductor with professional training, and this artistic direction has been compensated by annual honorarium. Orchestra players annually purchase and become the membership of the society, with reduced rates for seniors and students. There has been an open self-audition policy throughout the organization’s history, valuing inclusive community participation and opportunity.

Denise Garand
Vice President
Our 'mischief meister' counts steadily, teaching us to do so ourselves, as she often gives erroneous bar numbers during rehearsals just for fun!  She plays in the first violin section.
Debbie Goldstein
Secretary
Debbie is one our newest members and very happy to be playing cello.  Debbie has taught elementary music, band and choir and now teaches the newborns-7 years with Kindermusik at Kidsnotes Music.
Les Davies
Treasurer
Les is our expert treasurer and has been for many years. There are rumors that Les learned his counting from his years of Ballroom Dancing. Les is currently playing with our first violin section.
Doug Ridgway
Ways and Means
Doug is in his second year with Nova, having taken up bassoon again after a twenty-year drought.
Martin di Blasi
Membership Coordinator
Martin is in his third year with Nova, having taken up violin again after a twenty-year drought and a "language clef" change!  Spanish to English...he can manage...but Do, Re, Mi...for C, D, E...that’s a real challenge!!

Stephanie has been a member of Nova since 2008, playing in the oboe section.
Heather Harper
Member-at-Large
Heather has been a member of Nova since 2002, playing in the cello section.
